Play three winning rounds in Northern Ireland

Just in case you missed it, Teeofftimes is currently hosting a competition to win a once-in-a-lifetime round of golf with Rory McIlroy at Royal Portrush. The prize also includes rounds at Castlerock and Roe Park Golf Clubs, a five-night stay at Roe Park Resort and a brand-new set of TaylorMade clubs.

Not everyone will get the chance to win this ultimate golfing trip, but anyone can play these incredible courses when they book through Teeofftimes. We take a closer look at what makes Royal Portrush, Castlerock and Roe Park must-play courses when you visit Northern Ireland’s stunning North Coast.

Royal Portrush Golf Club, Co. Antrim

This spectacular, but famously challenging championship links is the future site of the 2019 Open. It offers two courses: The famed Dunluce Links, and the hidden gem, the Valley Links. Watch out for the 16th hole if you play Dunluce – it’s nicknamed ‘Calamity Corner’ for a reason!

Founded in 1888, Royal Portrush is the only club in Ireland to have hosted the Open Championship – first in 1951, and next year the 148th Open will be played on its historic fairways.

Castlerock Golf Club, Co. Derry

No trip to Northern Ireland’s ruggedly beautiful North Coast would be complete without a round at Castlerock Golf Club – a real hidden gem for links golf.

The championship 18-hole Mussenden Course, with its rolling sand dunes and sparkling River Bann tributaries, has recently undergone a major reconstruction and looks better than ever. Or you can opt to play the 9-hole Bann Course. The course was originally conceived in 1901 with the help of Ben Sayers and the legendary Harry Colt.

Roe Park Resort Golf, Co. Derry

The perfect place to play and stay if you’re planning a trip to the North of Ireland – a coastline that’s truly made for golf. Roe Park Resort is an historic riverside estate with 18-hole parkland course and picturesque setting. Tee off with the Inishowen Peninsula and Lough Foyle as your backdrop and take on this par-70 course, perfect for all standards of golfer.

Watch out for the 265-yard par-4 15th hole which requires big-hitting from the tee. The clubhouse vaunts an indoor Interactive Video Coaching System, 18-bay (10 indoor and eight outdoor) driving range, golf shop, short-game area and putting green.
