Beginners golf in southeast England

So, you spent all weekend watching the pros and were mesmerised by the best players in the world … and now you’ve got the bug to play, but you’re worried about being the beginner or not knowing the rule book inside out? Don’t panic, Teeofftimes can help!
Golf can be an intimidating, daunting game, and that’s even before you’ve stepped on to the first tee. As we all know, golf is steeped in tradition, and with that comes certain expectations. For a beginner or someone looking to test their golfing prowess, this can be a scary prospect.

More and more clubs are noticing that a relaxed policy makes the game more fun for players of different skill levels – especially those who are new to golf. If you’re on the cusp of golfing greatness but not sure where to start your journey, here are four beginner-friendly courses where all you’ll need to worry about is hitting the ball …

Pedham Place Golf Centre

With 18-hole and nine-hole par-3 courses on offer, Pedham Place provides a particularly exciting opportunity for golfers of all levels. There is also a 40-bay floodlit driving range available. Easily accessible from the M25, Pedham Place is located on the A20, 400 meters east of junction 3, M25. Green fees for the 18-hole course start from £10.00 per person.

The Paul Page Golf Academy – Princes Course

Just opened in Dartford, Kent, The Paul Page Golf Academy is an exciting new golf facility that’s family run and adopts an open-to-all policy. The nine-hole par-3 course is great for beginners and provides a friendly environment for you to learn, play and enjoy golf. For the little ones, Tri-Golf is a fun, energetic version of golf which young children can enjoy with friends and family.

High Beech Golf Course

Also known as “The Home of the Short Game,” High Beech Golf Course is situated in the heart of Epping Forrest. The two nine-hole par-3 courses (Red & Yellow) cater to both the absolute beginner and the intermediate player looking for a challenge. Clubs are available to hire at the course, where the emphasis is on enjoyment for all. With this in mind, High Beech observes a relaxed dress code with denim, t-shirts and shorts all permitted. Green fees start from £12.00 per person.

Corinthian Golf Club

Corinthian Golf Club is the “little brother” of Redlibbets Golf Club, and offers a nine-hole course in a fun and relaxed environment. For those that wish, varied tees create an 18-hole option, and you’ll also enjoy beautiful views that may ease the frustration from those duff shots (we’ve all been there). Dress code is relaxed, and equipment is available to hire with green fees starting from £9.00 per person.
