Spotlight on… Whitefield
With a history stretching back to 1932, Whitefield Golf Club is one of the longest-established in the north west of England. The spectacular 18-hole, par-69 parkland-style course is especially welcoming, while at the same time presenting a real challenge for players of all abilities.
In addition to offering a demanding but enjoyable course, Whitefield also has a long history of successfully hosting golf societies, social functions and lunches, golf days and events. They provide everything that a golfer would expect at a well-established club; the pro shop stocks a full range of equipment and clothing, while expert tuition offers the opportunity to work on your game and lower your handicap.
Whitefield Golf Club has its own unique personality, which can be seen by playing or watching the fantastic overhead video beautifully narrated by Peter Alliss. Designed by Tom Renouf, a contemporary of Harry Vardon, Whitefield is as good a test of golf today as it was in 1932. Not long by modern standards, but the five par 3s are up there with the best.
At any time of the year, Whitefield Golf Club is the ideal venue to celebrate your special occasion or host a corporate event. The newly built clubhouse is modern in style and high in spec, and has two rooms available for private hire. The main function suite can cater for up to 100 people for a sit down meal, whilst the Jill Desser Syndicate Room is ideal for meetings and presentations, holding approximately 40 people.
Whitefield Golf Club have partnerships with a wide variety of specialists who can supply everything you’ll need – catering, balloon decorators, photographers, linen hire, lighting, dance floors, DJs and entertainers, and they’ll manage the whole event for you. Whatever you need to make it perfect, they can deliver.
