GolfNow and Sky Business to Tee Off in 72-Hole Challenge for Charity
Golf-mad colleagues from GolfNow in Belfast and Sky Business in Leeds are getting ready for the ultimate test of endurance and their games. On 20 June, a team of six golfers from each business will engage in a punishing 72-hole challenge, playing four rounds of golf in one day, all in the name of charity.
This extraordinary event, set to take place simultaneously at GolfNow partner courses Oulton Hall Country Club, part of QHotels Collection, in Yorkshire and Portstewart Golf Club in County Derry, will raise funds for Cancer Fund for Children and Macmillan Cancer Support, while testing drive (and drives) of the 12 brave golfers involved.
The inspiration behind this remarkable endeavour stems from the journey of our GolfNow colleague, Phil McClay, and the support he and his daughters have received during challenging times from Cancer Fund for Children. In honour of Phil’s late wife, Gemma, and to assist families affected by cancer, GolfNow and Sky Business are joining forces to make a difference.

Six golfers from Sky Business will take on four rounds on the spectacular 18-hole course at Oulton Hall, with Team Captain Darryl Thompson leading the charge alongside Oliver Watson, Ian Earp, Dean Beck, Jack Tinker, and Lewis Kirk. Meanwhile, Team GolfNow, led by Captain Scott Henderson, will take on the challenge at Portstewart’s beautiful Riverside Course, featuring Luke Thompson, Ciaran Cregan, Thomas Beaumont, Joshua Cleland, and Chris Loughery.
The competition will follow a Stableford format, with each player submitting four cards. Individual prizes will be awarded based on overall performance, while team scores will be determined by the best three out of six cards. Scores will be tracked through the BRS Golf Scoring app, which will also display a live leaderboard in the respective clubhouses and on social media, to add to the competitive drama. To help create an exciting finish, the leaderboard will be hidden after 69 on the final round and holes 70, 71, and 72 will carry double points.
